Fargo will kick off the 2010 "Cans for Cash Challenge" on Friday.
City leaders will be on hand for the event, which starts at 11 a.m. at the Fargo South High School Auditorium at 1840 15th Ave. S.
The event is meant to encourage residents to recycle aluminum cans during October. As part of this national challenge, Fargo competes with other cities to win cash prizes.
The challenge is a partnership between the city, MinnKota Recycling and Fargo Public Schools Creative Arts program.
