WAHPETON, N.D. - Known historically as "the Gateway to the Dakotas," Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site near here will feature special programming during Memorial Day weekend.
Events from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. include Dutch oven cooking classes, living history demonstrations, children's games, laying of the wreath ceremonies, readings of the Fort Abercrombie Cemetery burials, and flag-raising and flag-lowering ceremonies.
There will also be tours of the fort buildings and grounds, various re-enactments and free visitation at the interpretive center.
