Friends of Vesterheim host event on Aug. 23

NORTHWOOD, N.D. - The Northwood Friends of Vesterheim invite the public for free coffee and dessert from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church here to learn about the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum in Decorah, Iowa.

NORTHWOOD, N.D. - The Northwood Friends of Vesterheim invite the public for free coffee and dessert from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church here to learn about the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum in Decorah, Iowa.

Hosted by the Northwood Literary Club and Bill and Myrna Johnson, the event will include presentations about two buildings in the museum's open-air division that were moved to Vesterheim from Northwood, including Bethania Lutheran Church, which was built in 1903 to serve the Norwegian-American community, and the Wickney House, which was built in 1879.
