North Dakota State College of Science is listed in the same sentence as Harvard, Rutgers and Brown this week.
The Wahpeton campus is one of 10 colleges around the country selected as an official site of "10 Points of Light to Take Back the Night."
The initiative aims to raise awareness of sexual and domestic violence.
On Thursday, NDSCS and Wahpeton's Three Rivers Crisis Center will host a march, rally and a speech by Linda Walker, mother of murder victim Dru Sjodin.
Walker will speak at 6:30 p.m. in the Harry Stern and Ella Stern Cultural Center. The rally and march will be around 7:30 p.m., and fireworks will follow at Old Main.

NDSCS is the smallest college of the 10 locations selected as official sites.
"We are just thrilled," said Georgia Pullen, NDSCS dean of student services. "All of those major schools and then the North Dakota State College of Science."
At a national conference for Take Back the Night, participants were impressed with the turnout NDSCS has had in previous years, said Kathy Mauch, campus advocate for Three Rivers Crisis Center.
In past years, the event has attracted more than 200 people while some of the larger campuses have reported 50 participants, she said. This year, Mauch expects more than 300 to attend.
Other official locations are Harvard University, Brown University, The Advocacy Center in New York, Rutgers University, Kent State University, University of Tampa, University of Texas at El Paso, University of Kansas and Lehman College in New York.

Journalism honors
Minnesota State University Moorhead students have taken home major awards at recent regional journalism competitions.

For the first time in the history of the program, MSUM's "Campus News" program has been named the best college newscast in the region by both the Society of Professional Journalists and the Northwest Broadcast News Association.
The broadcasting students also won individual awards from each organization.
In addition, MSUM had more first-place awards than any other university in the College Pictures of the Year contest through the Minnesota News Photographers Association.
MSUM student Chris Franz was named College Photographer of the Year.
MSUM won 12 individual awards, including seven first-place awards. The University of Minnesota won four first-place awards.
VCSU teacher of year
Valley City (N.D.) State University students have selected Shannon Vanhorn as the teacher of the year.
Vanhorn is interim chairwoman of the Division of Communication Arts and Social Science.
