RRV Sportsmen's Show slated for this weekend

A professional walleye fisherman, a premier woman bowhunter, a whitetail deer enthusiast and a former In-Fisherman TV host will appear as featured speakers during this year's Red River Valley Sportsmen's Show running Thursday through Sunday at the Fargodome.

Other highlights of the show will include Frank Addington Jr., also known as "The Aspirin Buster," who will show off his skills with a bow and arrow.

The Great Lakes Timber Show's Bruce Belanger will offer a look at the history of the logging industry and demonstrate cross-cut sawing, ax throwing and wood carving.

Dave Csanda, the former In-Fisherman host and recipient of the Walleye Unlimited USA Man of the Year Award, will cover "Versatile Walleye Systems" and "Trophy Pike Tactics" in seminars on Thursday and Friday.

Also during seminars Thursday and Friday, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources bowhunting instructor Marlene Odahlen-Hinz will discuss "Scent Control: Fooling a Deer's Nose."

Saturday and Sunday will offer seminars by walleye fishing champ Ted Takasaki and outdoors writer Todd Amenrud.

The Sportsmen's Show runs 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, noon to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $7 for adults, $2.50 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and under.
