The highly anticipated prequel/remake, "Star Trek," will be screened in special advance showings Thursday at West Acres 14, Fargo.
Ultra Screen showings will be at 7 and 10 p.m. that night; other showings will be at 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m. On Friday, the movie will slip into the usual rotation of matinee, evening and night showings.
This film takes audience members to the earliest days aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, when James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), a delinquent, thrill-seeking farm boy, is a bitter rival to Spock (Zachary Quinto), the Vulcan raised in a logic-based society.
Notables like Leonard Nimoy, as "Spock Prime," also are featured.
The film, released in Britian May 8, has received glowing reviews from media outlets like the The Times Online, whose reviewer wrote: "Without sacrificing the majesty of Gene Roddenberry's humanitarian ideals or the humour that is 'Star Trek's' salvation, (director J.J.) Abram's film is a rollicking space adventure that makes you fall in love with the original series all over again." Rated PG-13.
