Friday
Fans of David Allan Coe love him as the rough-and-tumble rebel country singer behind "Would You Lay with Me (in a Field of Stone)," "The Ride," "Take This Job and Shove It" and "Longhaired Redneck" who counts Kid Rock and members of the metal band Pantera as followers and friends. Detractors dismiss him as a racist and sexist based on two discs of what he called "bawdy fun." (Coe denies being a racist.) The final chapter has yet to be written, as the 71-year-old singer/guitarist keeps recording and touring. He pulls into The Venue at The Hub, 2525 9th Ave. S., Fargo, on Friday night. Tickets for this ID-only show range from $15 to $30. Music starts at 8 p.m. with opener Blind Joe. (701) 232-6767.
