Tonight and Monday
Videotapes are so 1980s, but they get a new lease on life (and laughs) in two upcoming events. The Fargo Theatre, 314 Broadway, hosts "Grindfest 2" tonight. The one-night-only event screens a collection of trashy trailers from exploitation movies at 7 p.m., followed by an "all-new, lewd and crude feature" at 9:15 p.m. The clips have the equivalent rating of NC-17, intended for ages 18 and older. Tickets are $5 per movie, $8 for both. (701) 239-8385
At 9 p.m. Monday, collectors Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett present their new lineup of "Found Footage Festival" at The Aquarium, 226 N. Broadway, Fargo. The touring show features clips from the "Golden Girls" age of advertising (a Chuck Norris cartoon?!) and a special 25th-anniversary showing of the classic amateur rockumentary "Heavy Metal Parking Lot." The show also features stand-up sets and skits between screen time. There is an $8 cover for this ID-only event. (701) 235-5913.
