Friday and Saturday
The newly named Nordic Footprints holds the annual Scandinavian Hjemkomst Festival and Midwest Viking Festival simultaneously, doubling the pleasure for those looking to get a taste of Norse culture.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday the Hjemkomst Center, 202 1st Ave. N., Moorhead, is home base for everything Icelandic, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Danish. Events each day include traditional folk music, story-telling, crafting, cooking and even Viking fighting displays. But the happenings don't stop at 5. The HoDo Lounge, Spirit Room, ecce art + yoga and Monte's all feature music Friday night and things end Saturday with a dance at the Sons of Norway on Saturday.
