FARGO — A Fargo synagogue is opening its doors to a Christian congregation that's looking for a new home.
Starting in September, Temple Beth El, 809 11th Avenue S., plans to start sharing its worship space with St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
St. Mark's Lutheran currently holds its Sunday services at the convent chapel in a building owned by Prairie St. John's Hospital, but with the hospital set to start construction on a new building on the site later in 2019, the congregation will have to move out by Aug. 1.
Temple Beth El's president Bev Jacobson said the partnership will benefit both spiritual communities.
"We share a lot of the same values with St. Mark's," she said. "We see this not only as an opportunity for them to share our worship space but also for us to develop interfaith partnership."
