Fargo - More than 500 churches - including Hope Lutheran Church in south Fargo - will celebrate guests with special needs at a prom night Friday, Feb. 9.
Hope Lutheran says volunteers are still needed to serve as "hosts/buddies" who will provide companionship and assistance during the event.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and attend a one-hour training session. The training sessions are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Jan. 27, 3 p.m. on Jan. 28 and 7 p.m. on Feb. 5.
Volunteers are asked to register at fargohope.org/specialneeds. Questions about the event can be directed to the church at (701) 235-6629.
The event, which is sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, will feature a red carpet, complimentary hair and makeup styling, shoe shining, flowers, favors and dancing. Night to Shine started in 2015.
