FARGO — Family Wellness will host a healthy kids cooking competition from 9 a.m. to noon April 4 for fourth and fifth graders in Cass and Clay Counties.

Eligible students can submit healthy and tasty original recipes and video of their dishes at http://www.familywellnessfargo.org/kids-healthy-cooking-competition/ . Submissions are open now until the Feb. 28 deadline.

Selected finalists will be invited to a live competition at Concordia's food lab for a one-hour match against other finalists. All participants will be provided a pantry of items to cook with and will need to incorporate mystery food items in their dish. Participants will have mentors to help along the way.

Dishes will be judged by area chefs and community leaders. Winners will also be recognized at the Family Wellness Cooking for a Cause Gourmet Gala on Thursday, April 30.
