MOORHEAD — Greater Moorhead Days might seem a little less great this year.

In a press release, Trevor Magnuson, recreation coordinator of Moorhead Parks and Recreation, which organizes the annual civic pride celebration set for Sept. 10-17, announced that some popular events have been canceled in 2020 due to health concerns during the coronavirus outbreak. Those events include the Greater Moorhead Days Parade, the Wings and Wheels Fly in and Car Show, The FM Flatlander Rotary Ride, Bridge Bash and Kids Fest.

Some events and new activities that work with current health and safety guidelines will still go on, including:

  • 9/11 Commemoration

  • Medallion Hunt

  • River Paddling Excursion

  • Adventure Lab Series

  • Amazing Parkventure

Other happenings are still in the planning stages. Organizers say that the events canceled this year will return for future celebrations when safety guidelines allow.
