ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Cultivated Wild Rice Council is looking for creative and imaginative contestants with culinary skills to compete in the 10th annual "Get Wild with Wild Rice" recipe contest.
Submitted recipes go head-to-head in a taste test by culinary specialists. Up to 16 finalists will have the opportunity to get their recipes published, with one recipe being awarded the grand prize of $500. In September, America will vote for its favorite recipe online and one lucky winner will receive the $250 People's Choice Award and one finalist will have the opportunity to compete at the 2019 World Food Championships.
Submissions will be accepted Thursday, May 9, through June 9. Recipes are required to include a quarter cup of cooked wild rice per serving and at least one of the sponsor's products.
