FARGO — Ugly Food of the North, Drekker Brewing Co. and the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society have teamed up to create a beer with locally grown ancient grains.

This hazy ancient grain IPA, called Brewed of the North, features grains grown by farmer members of the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society and includes grains like Ceres and Dylan hard red spring wheat and Einkorn — making up around 30 percent of the grains in the beer.

The beer will be released at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Drekker's Brewhalla, 1666 First Ave. N., Fargo. Attendees can sample and purchase beer on tap or in special commemorative cans. Brewed of the North will be available while supplies last at Drekker.

This event is free and open to all beer drinkers 21 and older. A portion of all proceeds will go to benefit the work of Food of the North.
