FARGO — In an effort to bring the magic of the holiday season home this year, the Fargo Park District and Santa's elves have teamed up to help spread a little Christmas cheer.
Each year, the Fargo Park District's Santa Village focuses on the Season of Giving and encourages the community to give back during the holiday season. Even though Santa and Mrs. Claus won't be at Santa Village this year, families can still receive a personalized greeting from the Clauses in the mail.
To receive these personalized messages, families must register online by Dec. 13. To register, visit EventBrite.com.
In the spirit of giving back, families are encouraged to support local organizations through free-will donations collected at the time of registration. All proceeds will be donated to the Sanford Children's Miracle Network, the Great Plains Food Bank and First Link's Giving Tree of Hope. A suggested minimum donation is $5.
In addition, families can purchase a copy of the new book "Santa's Favorite Things," written and illustrated by members of the Fargo community. Proceeds from these sales will benefit the community organizations mentioned above.
