FARGO — Scorching temperatures lately have made it clear that summer is here to stay, at least for a few months, and there are many ways to get out and about to enjoy the sun this weekend.
If you're hungry, two different Fargo parking lots are hosting celebrations of food (ribs and tacos, always a good choice). A woman with North Dakota ties will be on the ever-popular "House Hunters," if some couch potato time is more your speed. Here are a few ideas to get out in Fargo-Moorhead this weekend.
It's back!
Few things signal the start to summer in Fargo more than the parking lot gathering of ribs, rock and country music and thousands of spectators that is known as Happy Harry's RibFest at the Fargodome.

Another interesting note: because of the pandemic, this is the first regular event at the Fargodome in about 16 months.
Something for the kids
Gather up the kiddos and head to Island Park this Friday, June 11, for moments of family friendly fun and adorable cuteness.
The 22nd annual Midwest Kid Fest will include its signature Teddy Bear Parade, as well as concessions for sale, free activities for kids and parents, an entertainment stage and petting zoo, life-sized games and more.

Another parking lot party
Head to downtown Fargo on Saturday, June 12, and you'll find something surprising for a brewery: a celebration of tacos and tequila. But who doesn't love tacos?

Fargo Brewing Co. is putting the spotlight on the glorious food with Dia Del Taco Fest, a one-day celebration . Attendees can buy tacos from six taquerias, or indulge their sweet tooth with food from Windsor Waffles.
Pay extra for a tequila tasting, or enjoy watching some Below Zero Wrestling, a regional take on lucha libre wrestling. Tickets are $12 or $35 in advance, or pay $15 or $40 if you decide to attend the day of.
Watch someone else do something
There's nothing wrong with kicking back and watching some TV after a long week, and you just might catch a woman with local ties on a popular HGTV show.
Anna Hovet Dias, who grew up in Grand Forks, and her husband will be on HGTV's "House Hunters" in a new episode premiering at 9 p.m. Thursday, June 10 . Or watch it on demand this weekend when you can.
Chalk this up to North Dakota being one big small town: I actually went to high school with Anna, though I didn't know her well and haven't talked to her since. She always seemed fun and creative back then, so I imagine her search for a house will be a good one to watch.
Weekend forecast
Things might cool down a bit this weekend, but it's definitely still going to be warm this weekend, according to the WDAY Northland Outdoors Forecast . But the bigger question for us isn't so much about the temperature: will we get more rain? I know the grass in my front yard certainly could use some.
