FARGO-Oops, we did it again.

Both Fargo and Grand Forks stood pat in 2018 as two of the top 20 drunkest cities in the United States, according to a 24/7 Wall Street study published in USA Today. Fargo ranked as the fifth-drunkest city in the country, while Grand Forks ranked eighth. Neither Fargo's nor Grand Forks' ranking changed from the same study conducted in 2017.

The results of the study were compiled after factoring in four different variables; percentage of adults drinking to excess, percentage of driving deaths involving alcohol, estimated number of restaurants and bars and median household income.

For Fargo, the study concluded that 25.2 percent of adults drink excessively and 38 percent of driving deaths involved alcohol. It also found that the Fargo metro area has 433 bars and restaurants (181.8 per 100,000) and has a median household income of $60,009.

For Grand Forks, the study found that 24.2 percent of adults drink excessively and 34 percent of driving deaths involved alcohol. It also found that the Grand Forks metro area has 206 bars and restaurants (200.5 per 100,000) and has a median household income of $48,671.

The drunkest city in the country for the second year in a row is Green Bay, Wis., according to the study. In Green Bay, 26.5 percent of adults were found to drink excessively and 50.5 percent of driving deaths involved alcohol. There are 652 bars and restaurants (204.9 per 100,000) in Green Bay, according to the study, and the city has a median household income of $58,011.

In all, 10 Wisconsin cities finished amongst the top 20 drunkest cities in America.

The study also took a look at the top 20 driest cities in the country, with Provo-Orem, Utah coming in as the driest city in the nation.
