Holiday coffee drinks to warm your spirits

FARGO  – The cool brisk air is here, and that means our body heat is dropping along with the temperature. Warm up this season with signature holiday coffee drinks located in the Fargo-Moorhead area. This list of toasty beverage options is anything but your basic grande Pumpkin Spiced Latte.

Dunn Bros

This holiday season get warm and cozy with the return of fan favorites; Candy Cane Mocha, Almondine Tea Latte, and a new twist on their signature Nirvana. According to Dunn Bros’ website, “the new Spiced Eggnog Nirvana features steamed eggnog, and comforting seasonal flavors of ground cinnamon and vanilla.”

Starbucks

This list would not be complete without Starbucks. Their signature holiday cups can be recognized by any avid coffee lover. This year, Starbucks’ holiday line-up includes Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Chestnut Praline Chai Tea Latte, Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Peppermint Mocha, Eggnog Latte and a Gingerbread Latte. Get them before they’re gone.

Caribou Coffee

With nine convenient locations in the F-M area, Caribou offers a range of holiday drinks that everyone can enjoy. This winter, treat yourself to a Ho Ho Mint Mocha topped with whipped cream and crushed candy canes, a Chocolate Caramel Truffle Mocha or a Fra La Latte made with steamed eggnog and a dash of nutmeg. Each of these drinks can be made in your choice of hot, iced, or blended.

Red River Coffee, Treats, & Boutique

Located near the corner of 25th St. and 52nd Ave. in South Fargo, you’ll find a cute little coffee shop known for their organic coffee beans. A few delicious holiday drinks Red River Coffee offers are a Caramel Apple Chai Latte, Praline Mocha, Snickerdoodle Latte, and a Marshmallow Mint White Hot Chocolate. Pair these drinks with one of their homemade donuts or mouthwatering caramel rolls.

McCafè

If you’re in the mood to pair crispy chicken nuggets with fresh hot coffee, then McDonald’s is the best of both worlds. Believe it or not, McDonald’s McCafè is the leading coffee seller in the U.S. Warm up to chilly weather with their Peppermint Mocha or Peppermint Hot Chocolate - both topped with whipped cream and peppermint chocolate syrup. A sweet treat at all hours of the day.

Moxie Java

Barista, Tabitha Moerke, gave an inside look at downtown Moxie Java’s holiday drink menu. “We offer a Red Velvet Latte made with white mocha, vanilla and red velvet flavoring. An almond scotcharoo made with almond and butterscotch. And a Maple Pecan Mocha.” All holiday drinks are topped with whipped cream. You can even order your favorite drinks directly from their Facebook page.

Beans Coffee Bar

A little warmth goes a long way. This season Beans has created an exclusive holiday menu this year including a Caramel Apple Latte, Pumpkin Spiced Mocha, and a cold Pumpkin Pie Beanie Breeze. Plus all hot beverages are topped with a fresh cinnamon-n-sugar mini donut. Don’t forget to check out their daily Bean of Light quote at both of their locations.

Atomic Coffee

Atomic coffee is a fan-favorite coffee shop in downtown Fargo. Although they don’t offer specialty named holiday drinks, Atomic does offer a wide selection of flavored syrups such as a variety of nutty flavors and pumpkin pie sauce. Atomic also carries a mint syrup if your go-to drink is a mint mocha. Whip up your own crazy holiday drink with an endless option of flavor combinations.

20 Below Coffee

Be on the lookout for many holiday flavors from this coffee shop. Social Media Manager, Danae Moran, shared their winter menu for this season. “We’re offering peppermint mocha - made with Nutella and crushed candy canes - also available as a hot chocolate. Butterbear - made in-house, served warm. Eggnog and eggnog cappuccino - made in-house and only available through Dec. Creme Brulee Latte - available after Christmas. And a Peppermint Fog - a tasty non-caffeinated tea option with steamed milk and honey.”
