FARGO — Organizers have canceled the 2021 Red River Valley Home & Garden Show due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead sent an email Monday morning, Nov. 23, announcing the cancellation of what would've been the 60th annual event that typically draws 7,000 to 9,000 attendees to the Fargodome. The 2021 show was scheduled Feb. 26-28, and the email said exhibitors and stakeholders have been notified of the decision by HBA's board of directors.

The HBA's president, Darrick Guthmiller, called the annual show a "regional hallmark" in a written statement.

"When people see and hear 'the show,' they know warmer weather is coming and we're proud to have been making such a positive impact for so long. We didn't want to cancel, but HBA is committed to our exhibitors, attendees and the community's well-being. Planning for the future and looking ahead to 2022 is most important right now."

The HBA said the 2022 Red River Valley Home & Garden Show will take place Feb. 25-27.
