Heidi Heitkamp nominated six North Dakota students for appointments to the nation’s military academies, including Ian Pytlik, Horace, to the U.S. Naval Academy; Ruby Romsland to the U.S. Military Academy; Spencer Weisgram , West Fargo, to the U.S. Military Academy; Colton Willits , North Border Walhalla High School, to the U.S. Air Force Academy; Morgan Adams , Richland 44 High School, to the U.S. Air Force Academy and London Lambrecht , Shiloh Christian School, to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

John Hoeven nominated four North Dakota students for appointments to the nation’s military academies, including Seth Benson , Sheyenne High School, to West Point; Logan Brown , Bismarck, to the U.S. Air Force Academy; Jeffrey Corcoran , Grand Forks, to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and Luke Noah , Shanley High School, to the U.S. Naval Academy.

Fargo South High School graduate and senior at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management Lydia Hanna has accepted a post graduate position with the Chicago firm of West Monroe Partners as a data engineering consultant.

Sheyenne High School senior Preeti Chemiti has been named semifinalists of the 2019 Coca Cola Scholars Program. They will move on to the next round for a chance to receive a $20,000 college scholarship. The program recognizes young leaders who serve their communities.
