Dustin Olson, associate professor of business at Mayville State University, was named the recipient of the Mountain-Plaines Senior College or University Business Teacher of the Year Award. The organization will recognize Olson at the convention planned for next summer in Fort Worth, Texas.
Davis Ekman and Tyson Tallakson, both of Fargo were both members of the spring 2020 graduating class from the University of Minnesota Crookston. Ekman graduated with a bachelor of science degree in biology, while Tallakson graduated with a bachelor of science degree in marketing.
Daniel Meester of Fargo and Radmila Gullekson of Ada, Minn., were both named to the President’s List at Lake Area Technical Institute. The President’s List is limited to full-time students who have achieved a semester grade point average of 3.5 to 4.0.
Anna Ziebarth of Fargo, Hannah Hansen and Signe Harris of Moorhead were named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Bethel University in St. Paul. The Dean's List honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade point average of 3.6 or greater.
Karina Knutson, associate director of wellness & health promotion at the University of North Dakota, recently received the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) 2019-20 Region 5 Award of Merit. As a long-time member of NIRSA, Karina was recognized for her many volunteer contributions to Region 5 over the past decade. They include work on numerous work and planning committees, including Nominations & Appointments Committee, NIRSA Assembly, Annual Conference Proposal Review Committee, Annual Conference Research & Assessment Committee, and the NIRSA Foundation Scholarship

Emily Jackson and Justin Meehl of Fargo were named to the Dean’s List for spring semester 2020 at Montana State University. The Dean's List includes the 4,067 students earning grade point averages of 3.5 or above for the semester. In addition, Daric Thompson of Fargo was named to the President’s List from MSU. 2,439 students with a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the semester were named to the President's List.
Tim Flakoll, the Provost for Tri-College University and Director of Operations for NDSU Downtown has been awarded the national Phi Kappa Phi Dr. Ray Sylvester Distinguished Service Award. The Ray Sylvester Distinguished Service Award honors an individual who has provided sustained, non-compensated volunteer service to others beyond the realm of academia. The award is presented to one person nationally every two years.
