Next week's Taste of the World fundraiser moves online

Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota event will feature two speakers, and attendees will receive gift certificates to their favorite local ethnic restaurants.

FARGO — The annual Taste of the World fundraiser will move online next week due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota announced the fundraiser, set for 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, will feature two speakers who "will provide ample food for thought via this online event." Virtual attendees will also receive gift certificates to their favorite local ethnic restaurants in Bismarck, Fargo or Grand Forks.

Valarie Kaur, a Sikh activist, filmmaker, author and civil rights leader, will serve as the keynote speaker. North Dakota resident Muhammad Amiri, whose family was forced to flee Pakistan as refugees when he was 9, will also speak.

The annual event raises funds for LSSND's Humanitarian Services programs. Tickets are $50, or $25 for students, and are available online on Eventbrite . For more information, visit www.lssnd.org/tasteoftheworld.
