FARGO – Over 500 tables will be filled with food this Christmas thanks to all kinds of local effort.
On Thursday, Dec. 20, the Salvation army held their annual Christmas food box distribution. Families in need were able to pick a box complete with a full dinner including ham, veggies and even a cake-- all donated by local entities.
A group of almost 30 volunteers worked to get the boxes ready for Christmas. One said that this hard work is well worth it, especially at this time of year.
"To be able to provide a special meal at Christmas is just tough with everything else going on in the world," Salvation Army Major Vangie O'Neil said, "We just want to come alongside people and be able to provide that for their families."
