Dakota Medical Foundation and the Cass Clay Healthy People Initiative will sponsor Streets Alive! events on Aug. 28 and Sept. 19.
Five miles of downtown Fargo and Moorhead roads will be closed to motorized vehicles and opened to any human-powered transportation, including bicyclists, walkers, joggers, skaters and skateboarders.
The route will travel down Broadway in Fargo, across the Main Avenue bridge and down Center Avenue in Moorhead. Fun physical activities, healthy food booths and entertainment will be located along the way.
Streets Alive's goals are to inspire people to make healthy behavior changes, add physical activity to their lives and inspire communities, schools and work sites to create a culture of active living.
