The worlds of Major League Baseball and Victoria's Secret have collided in VS's Pink brand - with a collection of loungewear featuring the logos of 30 MLB teams.

According to a company press release, "The MLB and Victoria's Secret PINK product line is the latest effort by Major League Baseball to provide its extensive female fan base with new and fashionable ways to support their favorite team."

The collection also coincides with an expansion of the free-standing PINK stores. Model Elsa Hosk, the signature model of Victoria's Secret Pink, and Los Angeles Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson were at Pink at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, Calif., recently to promote the limited edition Pink and MLB co-branded collection for women, as well as the new store.

Outside the store, more than 100 people waited for a chance to pose for a photo with Wilson and Hosk, some arriving at dawn at the shopping center. "I've never done anything like this," said Angels fan Jeff Sanchez, 23, of Huntington Beach, Calif., who was first in line at 5:30 p.m.

But did fans buy the co-branded goods? Randi Zarate, 25, of Westminster, Calif., left with a $37 cropped red top with blue rhinestones defining the Angels' A logo - one of the bestselling Angels items in Pink shops. Zarate, who was second in line, said it was her second Angels-themed purchase from Pink, the other being the gray sweatpants she wore to the event.

The merchandise includes about a dozen styles such as hoodies, T-shirts, pants, shorts and baseball caps. Some items have the signature phrase "love Pink" along with the team logo and name. Together, they're one slice of an array of brightly colored sportswear, loungewear and underwear at the store that's targeted toward college-age women.

Pink, which is based in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, is the youngest of all the divisions under Limited Brands, a major apparel retailer in the U.S. The company plans to open a combined total of 25 to 30 Victoria's Secret and Pink stores nationwide - most of those, Pink, according to a Limited Brands report in February.
