"I'm over here, and I don't see any Jesses on the shelf," Dave Cuzner said in a phone interview from the children's section of Spirit Halloween in Fargo.
The store's owner says "Toy Story" heroine Jesse the Yodeling Cowgirl costumes are popular with young girls this Halloween season, and her on-screen counterparts Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the little, plastic, green soldier are getting a thumbs-up from the boys.
But you don't have to be from the world of Pixar to be cool with the kiddos for Halloween 2010.
The Disney princesses like Snow White and Cinderella are popular with the girls, Cuzner says. Witches and Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz" are staples of the season. "Alice in Wonderland" is also in.
Little boys are digging the Marvel Comics superdudes like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man and Captain America, Cuzner says.

And, Cuzner says, "ninjas are hot."
As for costumes that appeal to either gender, Avatar is big, and pirates are always a fun persona for little landlubbers.
The Super Mario Bros. empire also has something to offer this Halloween. But you don't have to be a dude to get in on the action because the pink-clad Princess Peach is always an option.
Judging from what Target in Fargo is stocking, "Star Wars" and "Transformers" should be big sellers with the little guys.
And there's also a good deal of chic Halloween duds for the girls. The Go Go Gal costume is 1960s hip, the Soldier Sweetie blends Miley Cyrus with camo, and the British Invasion getup is all about the Union Jack mini-dress.
Of course, it's not just the cute stuff that girls go for. Cuzner has Skeleton Sweetie, Monster Bride and Cheerless Leader costumes.
"Little girls like scary stuff, too," he says.
