FARGO — Travel is picking back up despite the recent announcement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that was both approving and discouraging travel, even for fully vaccinated people.
Last March, a lot of people put their trips on hold because of the pandemic. Moorhead travel agency Travel Incorporated said their phones haven't stopped ringing since the CDC announcement.
Travel Incorporated manager Tod Ganje said his bookings are still only about 30% or 40% of what they used to be before the pandemic. Since spring break and the CDC's announcement, he said, a lot of people have been warming up to the idea of traveling again.
"It's kind like that analogy of they're a dam ready to burst open. We're getting a lot of calls and questions about this and this time frame," Ganje said.
Travel Incorporated said people should plan trips earlier because airlines are still being flexible for those who need to make changes.
