FARGO — Estate sale veterans like Ingrid Olson are overseeing the sale of the Van Raden family's belongings this weekend. But one thing about this estate sale is different than most: many items haven't left their boxes.

Olson started working on the sale in late December after Tom Van Raden passed away.

"I couldn't even walk in, the doors (were) packed to the ceilings with brand new things in bags and boxes," Olson said.

Items include animal art, appliances, knick knacks, and more. Unique items include pictures of Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.

"Some of them are selling for $800 to $1,000 each," Olson said.

She doesn't have an exact number of how many items there are, but says it could be in the tens of thousands.

The proceeds of the estate sale will go to the Red River Zoo, because with a love for the arts and antiques also came a love for animals.

"The whole family has supported the zoo for generations," Olson said.

The estate sale at 6242 16 Street S. runs from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Jan. 22-Jan. 24.
