BISMARCK — A 22-year-old man from the Minot Air Force Base drowned Saturday afternoon, June 27, while kayaking in Ward County, according to a statement from the county sheriff's department released Monday.
Tyve Bulliner was kayaking on Nelson Carlson Lake with a second individual when their vessel capsized, Sheriff Bob Roed said in the news release. The second kayaker was rescued by onlookers.
The Ward County Sheriff’s Department, the Burlington County Fire Department Dive Team, the Ward County Dive Team, and a local ambulance responded to the scene.
The dive teams later retrieved Bulliner from the lake and pronounced him dead.
