Dr. Kinsey Nelson Promoted to Medical Director at Family Healthcare

<p>Family HealthCare is proud to announce the promotion of Dr. Kinsey Nelson to Medical Director of the clinic on July 22, 2019. In his new role, Dr. Nelson continues his practice as a family physician at the downtown Fargo clinic location (301 NP Avenue), along with heading the administrative functions that directly impact the medical services. He succeeds his colleague, Dr. Napoleon Espejo.</p> <p>Dr. Nelson joined Family HealthCare in August of 2018 and had been at Essentia Health for 7 years prior to that. He works with his patients to encourage healthy, active lifestyles. Along with treating a wide variety of acute illnesses, Dr. Nelson also specializes in the management of complex chronic diseases and routine preventative care. His areas of interest include diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, orthopedics/sports medicine, depression/anxiety, as well as well-child care, men’s and women’s health. </p> <p>Dr. Nelson graduated from the University of Minnesota, School of Medicine in Minneapolis, MN. He completed his residency at the United Family Medicine Residency Program in Saint Paul, MN. He also completed a post-graduate Fourth Year of Mastery at United Family Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. </p> <p>Family HealthCare is a community health center that provides affordable, quality healthcare for every person. They welcome people with or without insurance to receive care from their clinic locations. Patients who previously saw Dr. Nelson at Essentia are encouraged to become Family HealthCare patients to continue seeing him as their primary care provider. </p>
