FARGO — A Bismarck man was arrested after police say he fled from a traffic stop Thursday night, Nov. 4.

The incident began at around 10:30 p.m. when the North Dakota Highway Patrol says a trooper attempted to stop a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado on I-29 in Fargo for traveling 95 mph in a 55 mph zone. Officers say when the trooper initiated the traffic stop, the driver did not stop but instead exited northbound I-29 onto 13th Ave and then re-entered southbound I 29, continuing to flee and eventually taking the exit ramp to travel westbound on I-94. North Dakota AG upholds law against higher ed partnerships with abortion groups

BISMARCK — North Dakota’s top attorney is standing by a new law that prohibits higher education institutions from receiving state money from the Challenge Grant Fund if they partner with organizations that support abortion.

The opinion by Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem declared Senate Bill 2030 was “not unenforceable.” Stenehjem stopped short of deeming the bill constitutional or unconstitutional, but wrote that North Dakota University System officials should exercise “ordinary care and diligence” to be in compliance while avoiding constitutional conflicts.
