MOORHEAD — A man is in custody after threatening someone with a gun and a knife in south Moorhead on Wednesday, April 17.

Moorhead police were dispatched shortly after 10 p.m. to the area of 18th Avenue South and 20th Street South after a report of a man chasing a woman with a gun and a knife.

When police arrived on the scene, the suspect jumped 25 feet out of a third-story window of an apartment and ran away.

Officers then set up a perimeter and started a search for the suspect with a K-9 unit.

The K-9 unit was able to locate the man hiding in the three-season porch of a home.

Police arrested Kevin Haas, 47, but had to take him to the hospital to be treated for multiple injuries sustained during the jump.

The victim was unharmed.

Police have set up a perimeter in Moorhead on the 1900 block of 18th Ave S on Thursday April 18th.

The initial call came in to dispatch as a disturbance at just after 11 p.m. the night before.

Police then responded to an apartment at 1917 18th Ave S before putting up the perimeter.
