DICKINSON, N.D. — A 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide after a 15-year-old boy died from a gunshot wound suffered at a Dickinson residence early Saturday morning, March 13.
Dickinson Police responded to St. Alexius Hospital at 1 a.m. Saturday regarding a report of a male juvenile suffering a gunshot wound to his torso, according to a police department news release. The male was dropped off at the hospital by friends. Medical personnel attempted all life-saving measures to revive the subject, but the male was “declared deceased a short time later,” according to the news release.
The victim and the suspect were known to one another.
The 16-year-old was arrested and taken to the Youth Correctional Center in Mandan. and is scheduled to have an initial hearing within the next day, Lt. Mike Hanel said.
