VELVA, N.D. — A 24-year-old California man was killed in a rollover crash at an intersection about 4 miles south of Velva, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.
The man was driving east on state Highway 23 in a 2007 Dodge Dakota when he did not stop at the intersection with state Highway 41, the patrol said.
He then drove onto a minimum maintenance road and went off the right shoulder of the road, crossed through a fence and entered a cattle pasture.
The vehicle overturned several times and then landed on its wheels facing south. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, the patrol said.
