BUFFALO, N.D. — Three people were arrested on charges of burglary and possession of meth in rural Cass County on Tuesday, Sept. 17, after authorities say they found a man trespassing on a farm near Buffalo.
Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner said the incident started just before 10 a.m. when someone notified police about a suspicious vehicle they saw driving near 138th Avenue and 33rd Street Southeast.
A deputy later spotted and pulled over the vehicle and questioned its two occupants. The deputy learned that a person went into a "no trespassing" area of a nearby farm, according to Jahner, who said this led to a burglary investigation by police.
Authorities set up a perimeter around the farm at about 11:45 a.m. to begin searching for a possible trespasser, according to Jahner. With the help of drones and a Fargo police dog, Jahner said deputies were able to find a man on the property, who they arrested. The two occupants of the car were also placed under arrest.
The three arrested were identified as Scott Kjelland, 56, of Fargo, Kristen Cook, 43, of Fargo and Bryan Jacobson, 50, of Erhard.
