DEVILS LAKE, N.D. - A 29-year-old Colorado man was killed early Thursday in a one-vehicle crash near Devils Lake.
The man, who has not been identified, was driving west on U.S. Highway 2 when he lost control of a Ford F-150 pickup at 3 a.m.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the pickup left the roadway, about a half-mile east of Devils Lake. Once the driver lost control of the vehicle, it struck a field approach and went airborne.
The pickup then rolled once in a drainage ditch.
The patrol said the driver was ejected on impact and pronounced dead at the scene.
The man, who had been working and residing at a Devils Lake motel, was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation, and the driver's name is being withheld pending notification of family.
