MOORHEAD – A Moorhead man is in the hospital after leading police on a chase into Fargo which ended with him crashing into a fence, a parked car and finally a tree, police said Friday.
Moorhead police officers said they stopped Jason Glen Marinucci, 29, at around 2:28 a.m. Friday on an equipment violation, during which an officer found drugs in Marinucci’s possession.
Marinucci fought with officers, police said, and managed to get back to his car and take off, with a Clay County deputy pursuing him.
Marinucci led the deputy into Fargo, where his car hit fencing, a parked car, and finally a tree before Marinucci left the car and continued on foot.
He was caught and taken to Sanford Hospital, Moorhead police said.
Marinucci is facing charges of possession of a first-degree controlled substance, fleeing on foot and in a motor vehicle, obstructing the legal process, having no proof of insurance, possessing marijuana in a motor vehicle and possessing drug paraphernalia.
