WALKER, Minn.- Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony will join forces July 16 at Moondance Jam near here to fill the spot opened when Nickelback was forced to cancel the rest of their North American tour due to lead singer Chad Kroeger's throat surgery.
Hagar and Anthony will headline Thursday night of the three-day rock festival at the Moondance Fairgrounds. Hagar is a Grammy award-winning vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and musician, who in 2007 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen. Anthony, a renowned rhythm-section bassist, has played with Hagar for the past 30 years in bands including Van Halen and Chickenfoot.
The lineup includes more than 50 bands on four stages including Shinedown, The Doobie Brothers, Huey Lewis and the News, Papa Roach, Peter Frampton, Black Stone Cherry, Finger Eleven, Jefferson Starship, Pop Evil, Black Star Riders, Vixen, Honeymoon Suite, The Pat Travers Band, ThundHerStruck and more.
