BEMIDJI, Minn. – A pursuit near Bemidji Friday evening ended when a Beltrami County sheriff's deputy was hit by the suspect vehicle.

Red Lake Reservation authorities were chasing a 2015 Ford Focus about 5:30 p.m. stemming from a "domestic call," according to a Minnesota State Patrol incident report.

Soon, Beltrami county and the State Patrol authorities were assisting in the pursuit.

Beltrami County authorities performed a PIT maneuver in which the squad car runs into a back corner of the suspect car, causing it to turn around and ideally stop.

After the maneuver, Beltrami County Sheriff's Deputy David Hart was getting out of his car near the intersection of Highway 89 and Aure Road when the suspect car struck him, the report stated.
