FARGO-The city's bike sharing service broke a record this week with 1,850 checkouts using 100 bikes in one day, City Commissioner Mike Williams said Wednesday.

There have been more than 65,000 rides in just over five months, Williams said. The previous record of 1,400 rides in a day was set in the spring after the service launched in March.

The service is largely aimed at North Dakota State University students, who started school this week.
