FARGO — Due to the rising Red River, the Fargo Park District and city of Moorhead are taking preventative steps to ensure the safety of those who use the river trails.

The Fargo Park District is raising the pedestrian bridge today, Tuesday, July 9, at Lindenwood Park, 1905 Roger Maris Drive. The bridge is lowered when the river recedes to 18 feet. The Oak Grove pedestrian bridge remains lowered. Oak Grove Park is located at 170 Maple St. N.

The floating bridge at Dike East, 100 2nd St. S., is being removed today by the Fargo Park District. Its reinstallation is dependent on weather conditions when the river lowers to 18 feet.

The adaptive kayak launch at Lindenwood Park is scheduled to be removed as early as Wednesday, July 10. The launch is reinstalled when the river lowers to 17 feet.
