GRAFTON, N.D. – A potato warehouse near Grafton was completely destroyed in an early Saturday fire.

Emergency dispatch received a call at about 12:30 a.m. that the Campbell Farms facility, located just east of Grafton, was on fire, WDAZ reported.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found part of the building engulfed in flames, and fire was coming out of the roof, according to the Grafton Fire Department.

Six members from the Park River Volunteer Fire Department and three from the Minto Fire Department were called to the warehouse for mutual aid, Grafton Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Moe said.

Firefighters attempted to put out the flames, but they were not able to save the building. The warehouse was a complete loss.

"(We) did what we could do," Moe said. "You get a metal-covered building, that's what you end up with."

There was no one in the warehouse when the fire started, and no one was injured during the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Campbell Farms said damages to the building and potatoes at the facility are expected to be in the millions.
