DEVILS LAKE, N.D. – A Hardee's restaurant in Devils Lake is a "total loss" after a fire early Sunday morning, Fire Chief Jim Moe said.
Moe said the department got a call about smoke in the area of the restaurant located on U.S. Highway 2 at around 3 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, the department fought the fire for more than three hours before it was under control.
Nobody was in the restaurant at the time of the fire, Moe said, and the last person to leave the building left at about 12:30 a.m. There were no injuries from the blaze.
Moe said he didn't know exactly how much damage there was to the building, but deemed the restaurant a total loss.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. Moe said the incident has been turned over to the state fire marshal's office for further investigation.
