DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — When the WE Fest campers start coming and the music starts bumping, business starts booming in the Lakes Area.
Workers at Seven Sisters Spirits, just south of WE Fest on Highway 59, say the store sees three times as much business during the week of WE fest as it does during a normal week in the summer.
The store sells it sells around 6,000 pounds of ice daily — around three coolers full.
One of the hardest things for the staff to prepare for is predicting which drink is going to be this year’s best seller.
"Every year you’re like: 'I don’t know if this is going to stick around and then it ends up being the next big thing,' " said Chelsey Malstrom, an assistant manager at the store.
Malstrom said that the third of July is even busier than WE Fest Week.
