DETROIT LAKES, Minn. -- A Becker County deputy was injured while responding to a crash on U.S. Highway 10 early this morning.
The deputy, who has not been identified, was assisting Minnesota State Patrol east of Detroit Lakes with a vehicle that was in a ditch.
According to the Becker County Sheriff's Office, the deputy had not gotten out of his vehicle when it was struck by a SUV, also driving on Highway 10.
The deputy reported a minor injury. The driver of the SUV, 56-year-old Steven Gabbard of Detroit Lakes, was not injured.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The crash is under investigation by Minnesota State Patrol.
