According to the Becker County Sheriff's Office, the deputy had not gotten out of his vehicle when it was struck by a SUV, also driving on Highway 10.

The deputy reported a minor injury. The driver of the SUV, 56-year-old Steven Gabbard of Detroit Lakes, was not injured.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The crash is under investigation by Minnesota State Patrol.
