FARGO - Police have identified a man who was found dead Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the scene of an apartment fire in north Fargo.
The body of Nickolas A. Pulicicchio, 38, was found in an apartment at 802 14th St. N., as firefighters were extinguishing a fire in the residence, Deputy Chief of Police Joe Anderson said in a news release Friday, Dec. 2.
The unattended death is still under investigation, Anderson said. The cause of death has not been confirmed, he said.
Firefighters responded about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of heavy smoke coming from a unit on the second floor of the two-story apartment/ condominium complex. The fire was under control by about 1 p.m.
After firefighters put out the fire, they discovered a body in the unit where the fire occurred, Fargo Fire Chief Steve Dirksen said.
Pulicicchio was sentenced to 60 days in jail in 2014 for stealing $60,000 in coins from a UPS shipping center in Fargo. The coins were being sent to Treasure Island Coins for a customer.
