MOORHEAD - Minnesota State University Moorhead students are covering canvas to uncover mental illness.
Tuesday night, senior public relations students hosted "Canvas the Change."
They invited the campus to learn about the five signs of mental illness while painting handprints, slogans or designs with friends.
The campaign is meant to raise awareness and end the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
Event coordinator Chelsea Wood says, "We just want to create an environment that we can have on campus here that is normal for people to talk about it. And we don't want anyone to ever feel ashamed about potentially needing help or wanting for help."
The event is part of a larger campaign entered into a national PR competition.
