HAWLEY, Minn.-This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Hawley Art Show, an art show and sale that attracts artists from Minnesota and North Dakota.
The art show will be Thursday, April 6, through Sunday, April 9, at the Hawley Community Center, 418 Main St. E. Many original works of art will be for sale. Admission is free.
Entries can be submitted from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2. Exhibition times are:
• April 6: 6:30 to 9 p.m.
• April 7: 1 to 8 p.m.
• April 8: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• April 9: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The show will feature three art demonstrations. Ashley Kunz, Moorhead, will demonstrate acrylic/mixed media on April 6. On April 9, Ruth Smith, Hawley, will teach a "make and take" acrylic painting class, and Barbara Benda Nagle, Moorhead, will demonstrate watercolor painting.
Music will be provided by guitar/vocalist Jan Severson on April 6, Hartford Street Brass on April 8 and keyboard music by Gina Bortnem on April 9.
