MEDINA, N.D. - A 2015 Porsche Cayenne driven by an Excelsior, Minn., woman rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Interstate 94 near Medina on Sunday morning, Dec. 31. The woman was treated for minor injuries at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that Lara Weisman, 37, was westbound on I-94 3 miles west of Medina with the car's cruise control on about 10:15 a.m. Sunday, but was distracted and didn't notice a slow-moving truck.
Fredrick Jones, 50, of Monango, N.D., was driving a 2016 International truck with a trailer in the same lane as the Porsche, but had slowed to about 35 mph because its diesel fuel had begun to "gel up," according to a highway patrol spokesman. The Porsche ran into the rear of the truck's trailer.
Jones was not injured, nor was a passenger in the Porsche, Scott Mills, of Buffalo, N.D.
